2026 Weekend Warriors Summer Challenge Series

One Championship. Four Cars. Twelve Weeks.

The Weekend Warriors 2026 Summer Challenge brings together the best of grassroots sim racing into a single summer championship.

For the first time, drivers from the Spec Racer Ford, Formula Vee, and FF1600 communities are joined by the Mazda MX-5 in a rotating twelve-week series designed to emphasize adaptability, racecraft, and community.

Whether you’re a long-time Weekend Warriors member or discovering us for the first time, the Summer Challenge offers a unique opportunity to experience multiple forms of racing while competing for a single championship.

Respect first. Belonging follows. Growth takes care of itself.

Why a Summer Challenge?

Summer participation traditionally fluctuates as members travel, spend time with family, and enjoy activities away from the simulator.

Rather than operating separate championships with smaller grids, the Weekend Warriors communities have come together under one banner for a special summer season.

The result is a larger shared grid, a broader racing experience, and a chance to challenge yourself in cars you may not normally drive.

The Format

12 Weeks

The championship runs for twelve weeks.

Four Cars

Drivers will rotate through four different vehicles:

  • Spec Racer Ford
  • Formula Vee
  • FF1600
  • Mazda MX-5

Each car appears three times during the season.

Best 9 of 12

As with traditional Weekend Warriors championships, your best nine results count toward the final standings.

This allows flexibility for vacations, family commitments, and the occasional racing mishap.

Season Standings and Weekly Results

Championship Classes

The Summer Challenge retains the familiar Weekend Warriors class structure:

S1

Advanced drivers competing at the highest level.

S2

Developing drivers building racecraft and experience.

Masters

Drivers age 60 and over competing within the Masters standings.

The goal remains the same as every Weekend Warriors season: provide meaningful competition against drivers of similar experience and circumstances.

Racecraft Matters

The Summer Challenge is not about being the fastest driver in every car.

It is about:

  • Adaptability
  • Consistency
  • Respectful competition
  • Learning new skills
  • Developing racecraft

Some drivers may excel in one car. Others may thrive across all four. Both approaches are part of the challenge.

Join the Community

The Summer Challenge is administered through the Weekend Warriors Spec Racer Ford league for the 2026 season.

More Than a Summer Series

The 2026 Summer Challenge reflects what Weekend Warriors has always been about:

Creating a welcoming environment where drivers can learn, compete, and enjoy motorsports together.

The cars may change.

The tracks may change.

The principles remain the same.

Respect first. Belonging follows. Growth takes care of itself.
